Kadmiel is a comedian -  a musician - and a builder.

At 4 yrs. old, he's always making people laugh, and he can always tell when someone looks sad. That just makes him work harder to cheer people up.

Kadmiel's parents are Dominican, and they've lived in the Bronx neighborhood for more than 20 years, and that's where they found The Shield's pre-school Kadmiel attends.

Developmental delays can make school a challenge, but like most 4 year olds, Kadmiel doesn't get hung up on challenges - he just sees the opportunity for happiness, cuddling and song in almost everything he does. When his dad sits at the piano, Kadmiel is quick to sing along.

Because our Shield philosophy is grounded in seeing ability rather than disability, the teachers at our pre-school in the Bronx are working extra-hard to make sure Kadmiel develops in every way possible. That includes helping him play with legos and puzzles, and helping him build all kinds of stuff out of all kinds of things.

Building people up, one at a time. That will always be the work of The Shield.
