Pure Vision Arts at Marlborough Chelsea, a benefit art auction and exhibition, will celebrate the achievements of artists with autism and developmental disabilities as part of a special gala evening at one of New York's best-known galleries of contemporary art. Select works of art will be auctioned, many by leading painters represented by Pure Vision Arts.

The Shield Institute’s 2008 Pure Visionary Awards will recognize these women for their visionary work in literature and art:

Jessy Park Clara Claiborne Park
Jessica Park is an accomplished self-taught artist with autism who is known for her colorful pop-art architectural paintings. Her incredibly precise and detailed renderings have been widely exhibited and are included in many private collections.
Clara Claiborne Park is a prominent speaker about autism and author of several books, including The Siege and Exiting Nirvana. She received the 1999 American Society of Magazine Editors Awards for Featuring Writing for her essay "Exiting Nirvana," which was published in The American Scholar and on which her memoir is based.
