After-School Program
This service is a component of the Supplemental Day Habilitation Program. It is available to young adults with developmental disabilities who are aging out of the school system, or who have recently transferred to adult services. Activities focus on developing and enhancing skills necessary to achieve a greater level of independence in adult life.
The After-School Program is offered at the Shield's Flushing Center on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons. Additionally, psychological, psychotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, rehabilitation counseling, and nutrition services are available through our Article 16 Clinic.
